The Sibelius Museum is the only museum in Finland totally devoted to music. The museum building, designed by Woldemar Baeckman, is one of the most original Finnish creations of the 1960s. A selection from the museum’s 1.950 musical instruments (both traditional and art music) from all around the globe is exhibited.

The archive of the Sibelius Museum owns a photographic collection of about 20 000 photographs of individuals, orchestras, choirs, groups, festivals etc. About 80-90 % of the photos are registered in the archive’s photographic database. In case you are interested in accessing some of our images or if you wish to use some of them (e.g. as an illustration in a publication), please contact the archive’s staff. The user’s fee is determined depending on the purpose the images is used for (prices). A written user’s contract stating the term of use is always made.
