Getty Images announces new Senior VP to sports image dept – looks to expand to new markets


UK based Getty Images’ SVP of Sales for Europe and Japan Lee Martin has added a new role to his day job – Senior Vice President of Sports.
Getty Images say: Martin will work closely with Getty Images’ Editorial division, including Adrian Murrell, SVP, Editorial, and Ken Mainardis, Vice President, Sports Imagery and Services, to grow Getty Images’ global Sports business. In addition to his new role as SVP of Sports, Martin will continue to serve as Getty Images’ SVP of Sales for Europe and Japan, overseeing all aspects of sales operations including the development and implementation of strategies across agency, corporate and media customer segments.
Jonathan Klein said: “Lee’s leadership and expertise have been integral to Getty Images’ global success and I am thrilled that we are enlisting his passion for sports and strategic thinking to expand the breadth and depth of our business worldwide.”

• Getty Images is the official partner to more than 50 sports governing bodies, leagues and clubs, including the International Olympic Committee, National Hockey League, NBA, FIFA, UEFA, Manchester United and many other English premier league clubs. In his new role, Martin will drive Getty Images Sports forward by developing new exclusive partnerships and expanding into emerging sports markets including the Middle East. Martin will also integrate non-traditional sponsorship opportunities, new technologies, video offerings, and mobile and social platforms into the Sports division.
