Celebrity and entertainment news agency WENN ‘has concluded arrangements’ to both acquire Cover Media and to launch a new business called Indulge House.
WENN CEO Lloyd Beiny comments, “This is a very exciting time for WENN. Cover Media is a fast-maturing media group with a strong slate of popular content that perfectly compliments what WENN already produces. By acquiring Cover Media we have created a content force that will be hard to beat. In fact the group will now be responsible for providing the media with more entertainment news content than any other entity in the industry.”
Cover Media owner Matthew Walker will join WENN as co-managing director with Owen Beiny, who has been with WENN for some 14 years and is based at WENN’s Los Angeles location. WENN CEO Lloyd Beiny will transition to Chairman of the group. Initially Cover will continue to operate under its own name and will re-brand as:-
Cover Media – A WENN Company
At the same time Beiny has announced that Cover Media is likely to be the first of a number of acquisitions and new WENN businesses, the first of which is Indulge House. Indulge House is a permanent gifting suite where brands can tap into WENN’s entertainment industry associations and global reach to provide the media worldwide with celebrity and branded content. The first Indulge House opened in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles in June – with Indulge Houses expected to open in London and Berlin later this year.
