We are delighted to announce that The Press Photographer’s Year is back for a seventh year, and will be accepting entries and new registrations from Monday 14th January.
** UPDATE 1 FEB: Extended competition deadline – midnight on Saturday 2nd February **
Professional photographers will have until Friday 1st February to enter up to 136 images across the 15 picture categories, as well as their links in the Multimedia and Digital Film categories, using our award winning website.
Please note that the 2013 competition has a more extended time frame for eligible images than seen in previous years. This is to take into account the time that has passed since the 2011 competition.
A jury of photographers will then make their edit of the finest images from 2011 and 2012, and will award seventeen prizes, including the News Folio of the Year and Sports Folio of the Year, as well as the eagely awaited Olympic Folio and Olympic Singles categories, included to showcase the outstanding photographs taken at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Finally, one single photograph will be chosen as the Photograph of the Year, the overall winning image chosen to represent the very highest achievement in professional, technical and creative standards from all the entries submitted, in all the categories.
