Att: Picture Buyers – A rare chance here to unearth France’s history through images ….The French Ministry of Culture, through their representative collections RMN ( Réunion des musées nationaux) and CMN (Centre des Monuments nationaux) will be exhibiting at fotofringe London on 24 April
The rich iconography and architecture of sites in France from prehistory to the present day is there in abundance, as well as photographs of the collections of monuments – paintings, drawings, sculptures, books and printed or movable objects. Documentary and visual these photographic collections trace remarkable examples of a changing environment.
• Arago the photo agency at Réunion des musées nationaux aims to offer free and direct access to all Internet photo collections conserved in France. When first starting the collections of the Directorate General of Heritage and those of the public institutions of the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
• The photograph bureau of the Centre des monuments nationaux has a rich collection of nearly 450,000 photographs directly associated with the history of the establishment, successor to the Caisse nationale des monuments historiques et des sites.
