Press Association Images has agreed to distribute user-generated photographs from award-winning citizen journalism service Demotix. [see their banner ad to the right of this page] The deal, which covers distribution rights in the UK and Ireland, marks the first time Press Association Images has worked with citizen photography. Turi Munthe, CEO, Demotix, commented: ‘By working with Press Association Images extensive customer network, we tie our contributors ever more closely to the national news agenda, and of course open up a whole raft of clients for them. Demotix – two years old this January – has a lot to learn from the PA. Together, we believe we can craft a new set of rules for news sourcing and distribution, both in the UK and further afield.’
