Sad news reaches the PAN office today from the Sunday Times Newspaper picture desk – the death of photographer Nick Cornish.

“It is with the greatest sadness that I announce the death earlier today from leukaemia of our photographer Nick Cornish, at the age of 51.
For those lucky enough to have worked with him, whether in conflict in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Libya, Iraq or Syria, stuck in riots around Europe, making sense of natural disasters around the world, finessing portraits from unwilling subjects or simply illustrating your stories, you will remember him.
He was not just a wonderful photographer; he was the most gracious and self-deprecating of men, always surprised that anyone would know his name.”
