Its not every month you get a chance to view world class photography outside and in the UK so this year make sure you get to Ipswich for a stroll around the PhotoEast festival which runs until 24 June.
Billed as a world class photography festival for Suffolk, PhotoEast is produced in association with the University of Suffolk and photo agency Panos Pictures – in fact Panos Director Adrian Evans is on the festival team alongside former Guardian Picture Editor Eamonn McCabe so expect a good show. The PhotoEast vision is to establish Suffolk’s reputation as a centre of excellence in photography by hosting world renowned photographers and their work, as well as inspiring participation from across the arts, education, business and community. For the 2018 festival PhotoEast has run an Instagram open call using the hashtag #ibelong18. A selection of the best of these images is being exhibited on the fence on Neptune Quay.
This is their second event so lets make sure there’s a third – the festival takes place along the Waterfront in Ipswich
