Richard in full marathon flow back in 1986 – “Tie up those laces Holt!”PAN reader Richard Holt, a Key Account Manager at PA Images, has his running shoe laces firmly tied for his second half marathon – his first was in 1986!
49 year old Richard is running the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham for his chosen charity The Dyslexia Association which provides a wide range of expert and high quality services to directly assist and improve the lives of dyslexics of all ages.
He told PAN “It was certainly a bit of an epiphany when it was confirmed that I was dyslexic a couple of years ago which I always thought was the case, that I was a little bit different. Everything was suddenly explained.”
“The Dyslexia Association are a Nottingham based charity which helped me enormously after I discovered two years ago, at the age of 47 that I was dyslexic. I had always suspected that this may be the case but it still came as an emotional shock. My employer, the Press Association helped me by putting me in touch with The Dyslexia Association and agreeing to to pay for some tutorials which provided me with valuable advice, support and assistance.”
