I hope all’s well.
I am working with IRIE! dance theatre and Goldsmith’s on a project about the Black People’s Day of Action in 1981.
The march went from New Cross to Hyde Park via Camberwell Green, Elephant & Castle, Blackfriars and Fleet Street.
Oral histories describe the hostility faced as the march proceeded along Fleet Street so I am trying to source images of this part of the demonstration.
So far I have seen photos taken by the Workers Revolutionary Party – they had some great photographers covering protests.
