Starting July 1st Christoph Zeiher (34) will be the new head of news at dpa German Press Agency.
Zeiher completes the five new editorial management heads at the agency – “We are in the midst of an epochal change in the media” dpa editor-in-chief Sven Gösmann explains, – “which of course also has a massive impact on the services of the German Press Agency. And our customers rightly expect that we not only understand this change, but also actively drive it forward. This means completely different requirements for a news agency than a few years ago. Our five news managers are the central managers of this change for the editorial area. They are responsible for ensuring that today’s requirements for multimedia and digital publishing are reflected in the daily offering of the dpa We are very happy that we were able to win Christoph Zeiher for this demanding task.”
• Christoph Zeiher comes from Lörrach and completed a bachelor’s degree in political science and history in Freiburg and a master’s degree in cultural journalism at the University of the Arts in Berlin. He worked for Zeit Online and the Center for Investigative Journalism, among others, before moving to the dpa traineeship in 2017. Since 2019 he has worked in various departments at the agency as a reporter and most recently worked as a service manager in the dpa Panorama department and distinguished himself there, among other things, as an experienced coordinator of breaking news situations.
