Paris based Photononstop Group have announced the purchase Biosphoto, a leading French stock photo agency specialized in Nature, Garden and Environment photography, whose collection contains 2.5 million photos and 20,000 videos. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
They say: “This acquisition enables us to broaden the Group’s offer alongside what is available on photononstop.com – a leading non-specialist Rights-Managed & Royalty-Free site in France- and graphicobsession.com – the No. 1 portal for Royalty-Free photos in France,” said Gilles Taquet and Christian Delannoy, Photononstop Group’ co-founders and Chairmen.
“We are delighted to welcome to the Group an agency that has a worldwide reputation and whose work is recognised by both photographers and clients. We want to develop Biosphoto to reinforce its position as a niche leading agency in the field of animal, botanical and scientific photography and video.”
Founded by Catherine Deulofeu 25 years ago, Biosphoto has climbed up through the ranks in Europe to become one of the top specialist agencies. Biosphoto is recognised as a leading agency for the quality of its photos, the scientific thoroughness of their keywording and captioning and for its team, which is mainly made up of biologists and botanists.
The agency will be directed by Sophie Boulet-Gerson, who is confirmed in her position as Executive Manager.
