Job: Associate Picture Editor – The Times – London

The Associate Picture Editor is a key role in an experienced picture desk team.

Key responsibilities include:
• reading the news wires, with a good eye for a story
• excellent research skills
• picture editing when required
• manage the picture desk in the absence of the picture editor and deputy picture editor
• rich contact list both UK based and worldwide
• in-depth understanding of pictures and agencies, costings etc
• managing budgets and resources including photographers

Must have:
• strong journalistic background
• skilled in the art of meeting non-negotiable daily deadlines
• proven skills and experience in pictures and researching
• initiative and drive to succeed in a highly pressurised environment
• highly adaptable to change
• team player and positive attitude
