Visual Journalist, UK (m/f/d)

The candidacy is open to professionals with profound knowledge in visual journalism and the industry.
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
• Outstanding photographic and video graphic skills
• Experience in an international news agency
• A sound interest in the region
• A good knowledge of current UK news, sports, economics and arts, culture & entertainment topics
• Excellent news sense and communication skills
• Ideally, a degree in Journalism, Communication, Photography or Videography
• Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages would be an asset
• Team spirit
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 news environment with irregular hours and regular travel
• Flexibility and ability to work under time-pressure
Duties include:
• Photographic and video graphic coverage of newsworthy events (politics, sports, cultural and business events) and features on a daily basis in coordination with the Bureau Chief of the UK & Ireland
• Monitoring of news sources – be it social media, TV, newspapers, internet etc.
• Close cooperation with the different desks and the editorial management in Frankfurt
• Networking to assure a comprehensive coverage from the UK
• Advising on upcoming events that require coverage
• Research of background and information sources to write headlines and captions from a journalistic point of view
• Story research and identifying good subjects for feature packages to be produced, in close coordination with Bureau Chief of the UK & Ireland
