Agency Closure: Icon International

In an email to picture desks Kimberly Ayl President of photo agency Icon International announces the agency will close at the end of this year. Representing over 50 editorial photographers Icon was founded in 1997.
Kimberly says in the email titled ‘Icon to Close’ seen by PhotoArchiveNews this morning:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am writing with a heavy heart to announce that Icon International will be closing its doors at year’s end.

From its founding in 1997 Icon has enjoyed an enviable reputation as a cutting-edge boutique agency representing some of the most prominent, commercially successful and renowned editorial photographers in the industry. This is a history that I’m very proud of and will look back upon with great satisfaction.

Over the course of the next two weeks, we will license our photographers’ work with the same degree of care, dedication, and conscientiousness as we always have. Please continue to contact us with your inquiries and research requests. Icon will be here to help you with all of your picture needs until 5 pm PST on Friday, December 30. All calls and email that reach us after the first of the New Year will be forwarded to our photographers and their representatives as appropriate.

Thank you for the extraordinary memories and your many years of support.

With enormous gratitude.
