As part of The Associated Press’ ongoing efforts to help local newsrooms adopt automation and artificial intelligence technologies, AP has produced five AI projects that are free and available for newsrooms to use.
• Automated public safety incidents, Brainerd Dispatch, Minn.
• Translation of National Weather Service alerts into Spanish, El Vocero de Puerto Rico.
• Automated videos transcription and summary to create an initial article, KSAT-TV, Texas.
• Sorting public e-mail pitches to populate a coverage planner, WFMZ-TV, Pa.
• “Minutes” creates transcripts of public meetings and includes keyword alerts, WUOM-FM, Mich.
