Freepik, who last year acquired photo agency EyeEm – see the PAN report – has announced its acquisition of Magnific an AI company known best for their image upscaler tools.
Founded just seven months ago in Murcia, Spain, Magnific AI enhances the quality and resolution of images – significantly improving workflows for users including designers and marketers. Here’s a couple of examples:
• Using the tech, low-res images can be improved significantly to a quality suitable even for billboards and animated film production.
• Real-time enhancing capabilities mean that what used to take days in Adobe’s Photoshop can now be done in seconds.
So, this purchase will enrich the Freepik AI offering with Magnific’s best-of-breed AI technology, Magnific will continue operating as an independent business focusing on AI innovation.
