Go See: ‘ITHACA’ by Nick Papadopoulos

photographer Nick Papadopoulos presents his first show
‘ITHACA’ by Nick Papadopoulos at ATELIER 7
January 28 to February 19
242 Boulevard Raspail, 75014, Paris.
Titled ‘Ithaca’ the exhibition will feature 30 or so photographs taken over the past decade in Asia, Europe and Africa.
Nick told photoarchivenews.com ” ‘Ithaca’ is the name of a Greek poem written in 1911 by one of Greece’s most renowned poets, Constantine Cavafy, who was inspired by the Homeric return journey of Odysseus to his home island, as depicted in the Odyssey. The poem’s theme is that enjoyment of the journey of life, and the increasing maturity of the soul as that journey continues, are all the traveler can ask. As Cavafy wrote: “To arrive there is your final destination. But do not hurry the voyage at all.” As I personally journey through life, my photography is my Ithaca – opening my eyes, maturing my soul, and capturing precious moments and experiences.”
