Updated: Has photo agency Soevermedia closed?

UPDATE: 10AM Wed 31 July 2019 This just in from the owner…
Hi Will, I’m sorry to not have answered to your email, you sent I have been told today, and not to my personal one. I haven’t seen it.
Yes, I closed Soevermedia since April 1st. We have sent out a mailchimp email and you were included. Anyway, closing Soevermedia has been for me and for my fantastic employees a very sad moment. Our business model was not different compared to the new trends, it was absolutely up to date. THE problem are the prices and the terms of payments in the Italian market. As I paid my employees always on time as well the photographers, the margins have been too low to survive. I hope to come back to you with other good news. You never know!
Thank you. Laura

UPDATE 9AM Wed 31 July 2019 : It’s definitely closed. See comments below, thanks Paolo!

29 July ’19: We featured the new Soevermedia website in July ’18, the new site boasted an news editorial feed from freelance press photographers and a syndication feed from agency’s Sipa, Kommersant and Action Press.
Now it appears the site is up but not functioning.

An email to our contact at the agency has not been answered …anyone know anything? [email protected]

  • Hi Will,

Yes, the agency has definitely closed in April, I don’t know many details but probably they had problems to find a place in this competitive market with their editorial contents.
The editorial world is as we know in deep crisis and their business model was really different compare the new trends so probably this could be the reason why they choose to close down.
    Sad news indeed…
