Specialist sports photo agency Colorsport Images Ltd can now offer picture desks 300,000 images – online.
Colorsport Chief Executive James Pinniger told Photoarchivenews.com this morning: “In the two years I have been here, the library team have worked incredibly hard to digitize the best images from our extensive archives. We are pleased to have passed the 300,000 mark, but there is still an incredible amount to achieve. At a conservative estimate there are 10 milllion sports images in our collection and we are continuing to drive the best of these images online.”
Founded 42 years ago by Colin Elsey and Stewart Fraser the archive includes coverage of every Summer Olympics since 1972, every Football World Cup since 1974, every Rugby World Cup, 100 years of English cricket and over 125 years of English Football.
