The Federal Association of Professional Image Providers – BVPA- in Germany has elected a new board.
The new board was confirmed over an online Ordinary General Meeting on 25 September 2024. Chairman of the board Andreas Genz (dpa picture alliance) and board members Heide-Marie von Widekind (mauritius images), Marialuisa Plassmann (KNA-Bild) and Luzia Strohmayer-Nacif (APA-PictureDesk) were elected to carry on as existing members with Alexandra Braun, Managing Director of Axel Springer Syndication elected as a new board member.
BVPA told PAN: ‘The five board members reflect the broad range of the association’s agency landscape and bring with them a lot of leadership skills – good prerequisites for meeting the current challenges posed by AI, but also for recognising the technology’s opportunities for the image market. Under the leadership of chairman Andreas Genz, the new board looks forward to the next two-year term of office with confidence, during which the focus will be on the further development of the annual PICTAday event as well as deeper cooperation with industry-related associations and organizations. The next PICTAday will take place on April 3, 2025 at the Factory Hammerbrooklyn in Hamburg.
