The Mega Agency has recruited David Ellis as UK Sales Director.
Ellis was previously Head of UK Sales for Splash News, which he joined in 2004, and latterly UK Media Sales Manager for Corbis, where he was in charge of overseeing sales strategies and increasing revenue.
A keen marathon runner and triathlete, super-competitive Ellis says it’s great to be teaming up with his old boss, Mega Agency founder Kevin Smith. “It’s really motivating to be part of an exciting and new venture that has big plans to shake-up the agency world,” said Ellis. “I think both photographers and clients are going to love what they see.”
Smith, who sold Splash four years ago, said Ellis was the perfect fit for the dynamic team he and CEO Tom Tramborg, formerly a senior director at Getty, are busy assembling. “Dave knows the UK media world inside out and has great relationships with all the key players,” said Smith, who made Splash one of the most respected and recognised entertainment brands in the world. “That knowledge and experience, coupled with Dave’s drive and enthusiasm, will be invaluable in making Mega the success we know it’s going to be.”
The Mega Agency is preparing for launch with offices across the US, UK, mainland Europe and Australia – meaning more direct sales for contributors in multiple territories, according to Smith.
