The International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York will celebrate acclaimed photo editor and photographer Kathy Ryan at their twelfth annual ICP Spotlights Luncheon, taking place on November 13.
• The Spotlights benefit is an annual luncheon that celebrates women in photography and visual arts. The event supports ICP’s mission to champion “concerned photography”, and to explore the role images play in contemporary culture.
ICP say: Kathy Ryan served as the Director of Photography at The New York Times Magazine for 37 years. Her innovative approach and keen eye for compelling imagery have shaped visual journalism and inspired photographers worldwide. Ryan’s dedication to the craft has earned her a distinguished place in the field, and her leadership has brought attention to some of today’s most important imagemakers.
“We are thrilled to honor Kathy at Spotlights this year, as ICP continues to celebrate its 50th Anniversary,” said ICP CEO, Bob Jeffrey. “Kathy completely embodies our mission of championing concerned photography and recognizing the important stories that photographers tell through their work.”
