Press photographer Darrin Zammit Lupi a staff photographer with the Malta Times sent us these photos of photojournalist Guy Martin arriving in Malta where he will receive continued medical care for his injuries sustained whilst covering the conflict in Libya. Guy was among the casualties in an incident which resulted in the deaths of two photojournalists, Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros.
Darrin told PhotoArchiveNews.com: “We didn’t manage to speak to Guy…we were kept well away – He didn’t look too good, but was hard to tell from that distance…he did manage a very weak wave and thumbs up as he was transferred off the ship though”.
Here’s how The Malta Times reported the arrival: British photojournalist Guy Martin, who was injured in a mortar attack in Misurata, Libya, arrived in Malta this afternoon on the cargo ship Marianne Danica.
