The Washington bureau is a 24-hour seven-day a week operation. This photographer will provide coverage in the areas of politics and the federal government including the White House, Capitol Hill, State Department and Department of Defense. Coverage of local professional sports and local breaking news is also required.

Qualifications:
The photographer covers national and international assignments. Extensive travel is required; usually on a moments notice. The Photographer must be willing and able to work all shifts as needed. All candidates must have superior news judgment and the photographic skills to cover a wide variety of events competitively, as well as demonstrated ability to generate strong photos beyond scheduled assignments. Skills should include a sharp sense of photocomposition, the ability to compose as events unfold and tell a story photographically. The successful candidate should have a strong interest in politics.

Creativity is critical, as well as the ability to meet deadlines. The Photographer must be able to edit digital images and transmit using appropriate technology from the field in a deadline driven environment. Proficiency in writing captions that are accurate and informative is essential. Multimedia and video skills are a plus. This person must be self-motivated, organized, as well as flexible enough to juggle multiple priorities; good planning skills are essential. ….
