Shutterstock founder Jon Oringer is to become Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board at the agency with Stan Pavlovsky, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, today appointed as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board.
Shutterstock say: ‘This change marks a new era for the company and Stan Pavlovsky is stepping into the CEO role with a clear vision and strategy for this next phase. Stan plans to drive higher customer retention and new revenue streams by focusing on three things:’
- Innovation that enhances Shutterstock’s customers’ workflow;
- Content that is relevant and fresh; and
- Data and insights that drive performance.
Jon explains more about the change on his blog this morning:
……Although I’ll be stepping back from the day-to-day, I’m not going away! I will remain Chairman of the Board and continue to be a resource and advisor to Stan. As Executive Chairman and as the largest shareholder, I plan to continue to be involved in the strategy and direction of the business including yearly planning, regular off-sites, M&A, capital allocation, and other large initiatives. I will keep my desk in the office, my pop-in will still have my name on it, and I plan to be available and visible. You may not find me in the day-to-day management meetings anymore, but you can be sure that I will be available when the team needs me! And importantly, my passion for Shutterstock remains just as strong as when I founded the company 16 years ago… read on here
