Magnum photographer Martine Franck has died.
PAN reader Jinx Rodger [wife of Magnum photographer George Rodger] sent this reaction to Martine’s passing on Saturday;
Dear Will: Magnum has lost a great photographer. Martine Franck has just died from cancer. I am very very sad as she was such a great friend to George and to me. But also she was a Great photographer. She nursed Henri through his long illness, and then she “nursed” Magnum Paris
through its various changes. Martine was always greatly respected by everyone —wise, discrete, cheerful–a good friend to all. I shall miss her dreadfully. sadly —-from Jinx
