UK based photo library the Mary Evans Picture Library is now representing the collection of Antiquarian Images. They say: ‘The library, comprising of thousands of fascinating pictures, spans the 15th to 19th century and encompasses a comprehensive range of subjects including flora and fauna, buildings, gardens, native people, military and naval scenes and panoramas, the majority of which are in colour. A particular speciality is a fine selection of rare and beautiful antique maps as well as celestial and astronomical charts, which perfectly reflect Antiquarian Images’ reputation for the unusual and historically curious.’ Among the thousands of beautiful images available within the collection are exquisite copperplate engravings of flowers, fascinating maps of 17th century London and pictures of long since demolished stately homes.
