Mega cements important content partnership as AMI adds Bauer Media USA titles

American Media, Inc. (AMI), the leading publisher of celebrity journalism and health and fitness magazines in the United States, has announced it has partnered with The Mega Agency, who will become the organisation’s premium content partner.
The deal, signed earlier this month, gives AMI greater access to The Mega Agency’s breaking news content and rich archive of 30 million news, sport and entertainment photographs and videos, and further enhances the close relationship between the two media companies. Mega already globally syndicates exclusive content for AMI, which owns and operates the leading print and digital celebrity and active lifestyle media brands in the United States.

A few weeks ago AMI announced it had reached an agreement to acquire 13 brands from Bauer Media USA. The addition of the Bauer titles, including In Touch, Life & Style, and Closer as well as the nine brands that make up the Bauer Teen Group, including J-14 and Girls World, will now be part of the AMI Entertainment Group.

“AMI is one of the biggest and most important publishers in the United States and this deal means even more exposure for The Mega Agency’s images across AMI’s many titles,” said The Mega Agency’s Chief Content Officer David Leigh. “If photographers want to see their work in print in the US celebrity market, they need to join the Mega revolution and not be stuck in the past”  “Our executive team’s great relationship with editors and publishers across the world is one of the main reasons new photographers are joining The Mega Agency every day.  “They like our real-time dashboards, state-of-the-art uploader and know they are in safe hands with our knowledgeable team of picture editor and sales executives across the globe.”

Added Dylan Howard, AMI Chief Content Officer and Vice President:  “Our team of reporters and investigators around the world are excited to embark on this journey with The Mega Agency. “As a company, AMI remains committed to supporting The Mega Agency, which shares our insatiable appetite to deliver our readers compelling and exclusive content.”
