New Aerial Content At Skyscan At FotoFringe

Stock photo agency Skyscan is now representing The Westair Aerial Archive a collection over 250,000 aerial photos of the UK captured since 1968 by Simon White and his father before him. The company was based in Weston-super-Mare and has extensive coverage of the west and south-west of England, but there is also important coverage over the whole country and is invaluable in showing the UK of up to 60 years ago. This archive was put into long term storage in 2005 following a serious accident involving the photographer but was brought to light again with Skyscan’s help in Autumn 2010.
Old aerial photos can provide a crucial ‘snapshot in time’ which helps to resolve planning and boundary disputes. Skyscan are experts in locating old air photos and for over a decade has played an important part in rescuing several historic air archives of which the London Aerial Archive and Chorley Handford / Realistic Collection have been catalogued and now searchable online.
Skyscan will be at FotoFringe London on 11 May
