New image representations and acquisitions at the photo libraries – AKG, UIG, Piemags

• AKG Images are now licensing the Werner Foreman collection ‘Werner Forman’s life work was devoted to documenting in photographs the history, art, religion, culture and customs of the great civilizations and tribal societies of the past. He is the co-author of some eighty books on the achievements, attitudes, myths, rites and rituals of these cultures.’
The Werner Foreman library was run by PAN friend Barbara Heller from the 1980’s until her death in 2020.

• Universal Images Group has acquired the Marka ITEM collection, based in Milan, Italy. ‘The Marka ITEM collection features subject strengths in European and Italian history; vintage travel and exploring across Europe from the 1920’s through 1960’s; Italian cultural heritage. Additionally, the well-known editorial archive includes many thousands of images of celebrities, authors, artists, politicians and sports stars from the mid-to-late 20th century.’ The collection will be integrated into UIG’s archive during December and will become immediately available for distribution and licensing through the agency’s licensing partners.

Piemags have acquired a comprehensive life-time image collection (negatives and full copyright) of military vehicles and hardware – 1970’s – 2000’s. Available soon via their image partners and directly on their very fast new platform.
