Congrats to PAN reader Photographer Tom Broadbent who has had an image from his latest photo project At Home With the Furries (featured on PAN here) included in a new photo book “1001 Photographs You Must See Before You Die”.
The book – one of the best up to date photo reference books we’ve seen in a while – arrived in the PAN post this week.
Published by Octopus Books and Edited by Paul Lowe they say: ‘A book is fascinating and comprehensive compendium of the greatest photographs ever shot, with stunning reproductions of each photo alongside illuminating explanations and historical details. From the oldest surviving photograph from 1826, to Trump’s election win in 2016, this is a chronological tour through the greatest images ever captured, and an all-inclusive guide to the art of photography. Featuring photographs from around the world and by myriad different photographers, readers can discover all the big names, from Henri Cartier-Bresson to Annie Leibovitz, Ansel Adams to Helmut Newton, and many more besides.’
Tom told PAN last night: “It’s an honour to be have an image selected and to be featured along side photographers who have had a great influence and inspiration to me and my work”. The selected photo – Smirnoff, the husky wolf – runs alongside photographs by luminaries of the industry such as Man Ray, Cecil Beaton, Nick Knight, Bill Brandt, Horst P Horst, Cindy Sherman and Martin Parr. – Read more from Tom on the book on his Blog
