Jaimie out and about …
Paparazzo Jaimie Harris has launched a blog called Diary Of A Girl Pap documenting her day to day activity trying to land the next celebrity exclusive. PAN spoke with Jaimie this week after we spotted the blog …She’s 26 – started shooting at 19, loves the business and has landed some great money content.
PAN: How did you start shooting celebrities?
Jaimie: I have always been interested in photography so from school I worked in a photo studio then joined Big Pictures where I really got the pap bug …when Big closed I started supplying photo agency Xposure with all my images – now they are Backgrid and I am exclusive to them.
– We called Backgrid for a quote: Owner Dan Taylor told us: “I am extremely proud of Jaimie and all she has achieved, being one of the very few female paps it has not been an easy ride for her. Not only has she come on leaps and bounds technically, she has also developed fantastic business relationships within the industry which has enabled her to progress massively. Jaimie is a great asset to our team and we enjoy working with her very much.”
PAN: Hey Dan – Jaimie told us she really wants to shoot in LA ….just saying !
PAN: How many other girls are shooting?
Jaimie: When I started there were a few girl paps but now I’m the only one.
PAN: Do you have the advantage when shooting a female celebrity when you are in a crowed of paps?
Jaimie: Yes! – more often than not the celebrity will spot me and concentrate on me – looking directly down the camera barrel, which is nice!
PAN: The word paparazzi sometimes gets a rough ride – what do you think of it?
Jaimie: I am a pap and that’s what I do.
PAN: What has been your favourite shoot to date?
Jaimie: Tom Cruise on the set of a film in London – I was up shooting at 1 in the morning and I smashed some great content – here’s the money shot – below

PAN: What’s next for you?
Jaimie: Through my agency, Backgrid, I am landing some great set-up shoots with female celebrities who are asking for me which is really great and an area I would like to expand.
PAN: Most recent pap set?
Jaimie: Most recently my picture went viral when in one of my pictures someone spotted Michelle Keegan had ‘6’ toes, when she was forced to deny it was quite funny. – below:
