akg-images the rights managed photo archive specialising in history, fine art and photography will have a new Managing Director at it’s London office from Friday August 21. Current Managing Director David Price-Hughes is leaving the archive ‘to pursue other business opportunities within the industry’ and Angelika Pirkl (above) who has been with the company since 2008 has been announced as new MD.
Angelika completed her degree in European Studies at the University of Royal Holloway in 2006 and went on to work for Lebrecht Photo Library before joining the akg-images team in London in June 2008. Angelika says: “As Senior Picture Researcher at akg-images I have come to know and cherish this remarkable and eclectic image collection. As Managing Director I now look forward to seizing exciting business opportunities, helping to grow and promote our collection even further”.
David said: “It has been a pleasure to spend the last thirteen years surrounded by a stunning archive of images and a fantastic team, not only in our London office but also in Paris and Berlin,”.
