People: Hannah Hess – New Editor-in-Chief At epa

Hannah Hess (photo above), 44, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the european pressphoto agency epa. She will be taking over from current Editor-in-Chief Cengiz Seren, 58, in the spring. Cengiz is leaving to take up a ‘new challenge’, after a total of 19 years with epa.
“Hannah is our ideal choice for a seamless transition and change of generation in the editorial management,” epa’s President and CEO, Jörg Schierenbeck said – “With Hannah as Editor-in-Chief and her Deputies Gernot Hensel, Frank Bengfort and Monika Plhal, we have the perfect editorial management team to cope with the challenges of the future, in a world of an ever growing demand for unique newsphoto coverage.”
