Stock photo & footage agency Wavebreak Media has acquired The DIS Daylight Studio business in Cape Town, South Africa.
Speaking at the official launch of the studio last week, Wavebreak CEO Sean Prior commented: “the addition of the Daylight Studio to the Wavebreak Media infrastructure will see year-round production conducted at this world class facility, and allow us to expand our library of compelling visual content to unprecedented levels. It represents the completion of a long-term objective of the company and a milestone for all of the team involved.”
The Daylight Studio is located in the heart of Cape Town’s CBD on the top floor of the Bree Street Studios Building. The 250m2 studio space offers a 36m2 opening skylight with removable white scrim, floor to ceiling windows a wooden deck and roof garden with views of Lions Head as well as a 23 x 3m balcony & fold-back glass doors enabling uninterrupted views of the City and Table Mountain.

Wavebreak Media has a current library of over 100,000 images and 45,000 footage clips, all wholly owned. The new facility with its team will greatly enhance the ability to provide continuously innovative and top quality standard content, both to Wavebreak’s worldwide distribution network and to direct customers.
