↑ …’That Christmas I was given a Zenith B, Russian made camera and 50mm lens, that probably cost about £40 but I was convinced it would be my passport to glory and after a few unpromising attempts I nailed this shot of Martin Chivers beating Gary Sprake to score for Tottenham at White Hart Lane…’

The busiest man in sports photography, photographer and photo agency boss at Offside, Mark Leech has launched a blog. With an encyclopedic memory for almost every football image he has shot over the past 40 years Mark will be recording his most memorable shots (and there are a few!) on the blog.

Mark ↑ photo’d at fotofringe this year told PhotoArchiveNews.com: ‘Hi Will, Just realised it will be 40 years on Monday since I started my career in sports photography.’ Didn’t want to bore everybody, could have written more than that about my first day, but nobody wants to read an autobiography on line, do they ? Feel free to use Big Chiv (image above), making sure to mention it was taken on a Zenith B and not the more expensive Zenith E.’

here’s to the next 40 years Mark!
