Previously undigitised SPIEGEL TV archive licensing now at British Pathé

British Pathé are now representing the previously undigitised archives of SPIEGEL TV, Germany’s renowned current affairs programme.

• Collection Note: Since 1988, SPIEGEL TV has covered global news, current affairs and culture with hard-hitting and award-winning video journalism. Over this time a unique archive has been amassed of not only edited features but also invaluable b-roll offering unfiltered scenes of everyday life.

• View Content: Some of history’s most seismic moments, including German Reunification and the Soviet Collapse, will be illuminated with content largely unseen for decades. Historians, researchers, students and the entire general public can now access this fresh resource on the British Pathé website, with all of the material available for licensing.

They say: British Pathé’s CEO James Hoyle: “We couldn’t be more excited to represent such a historically important collection. SPIEGEL TV’s content is like nothing else in our archive and it’s wonderful to be able to offer our clients decades of additional history.”
SPIEGEL TV’s Managing Director Kay Siering: “British Pathé is a perfect partner for SPIEGEL TV. The collaboration enables us to make our archive material even better known internationally on one of the most renowned platforms.”
