Reuters to award photojournalism internship to College Photographer of the Year winner

The Reuters picture team sent me this great new opportunity for student photojournalists – they will be awarding a 12-week paid internship at Reuters to the student named Gold Winner in the Portfolio category of the 79th College Photographer of the Year (CPOY).

• College Photographer of the Year is the world’s largest collegiate photojournalism competition, with roughly 600 students from 160 college and universities from nearly 50 countries entering annually. CPOY was founded in 1945 and is co-sponsored by Nikon, Inc. and the Missouri School of Journalism.

Rickey Rogers, Global Editor of Reuters Pictures, said: “Reuters recognizes the essential role that emerging photographers play in the future of photojournalism, and is proud to support them as they explore their new careers. Our partnership with the University of Missouri allows us to identify some of the top young talents and immerse them in the experience of working as part of a Reuters team.”
