They say: ‘Colon cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and the second biggest cancer killer. Bowel cancer can affect anyone of any age. More than 2,600 new cases are diagnosed each year in people under the age of 50. Knowing the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer can be life-saving as, the earlier the disease is detected, the more likely treatment is to be successful. It’s vital anyone experiencing these symptoms gets checked by their GP: bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo, unexplained change in bowel habit, unexplained weight loss or extreme tiredness for no obvious reason. We also encourage you to have conversations in your family as a third of all new cases are hereditary.’
