Sebastião Salgado: GOLD

First shown at TPG in 1990, this landmark exhibition offers a new look at Sebastião Salgado’s most influential series – the Serra Pelada Gold Mine from 1986. Featuring large-scale prints of the original works, this exhibition highlights the Brazilian photographer’s life-long commitment to the environment and social justice through social documentary and photo-journalistic practice. The exhibition will also include an archival section curated by Neil Burgess, contextualising the impact GOLD had when it was first published and its significance for Salgado’s career.
