Shutterstock confirmed as headline sponsor for the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards

Photo agency Shutterstock have confirmed their commitment to the UK editorial photo arena with the confirmation that they are headline sponsor for the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards, Britain’s most prestigious awards for photography.
The Guild say: “UK Picture Editors Guild Awards goes from strength to strength as it is joined by two high profile sponsors. Shutterstock and Qatar Airlines. Global technology company Shutterstock has become the headline sponsor for the UK Picture Editors Guild Awards, Britain’s most prestigious awards for photography.
The company, founded in 2003 by Jon Oringer offers media companies and advertisers images and videos that capture the world around us, including a live feed of tightly edited celebrity, entertainment, sports, and news images and videos, along with access to a multi-decade archive of iconic images.
In 2015, Shutterstock expanded its portfolio to include Rex Features, and signed a multi-year alliance with Penske Media Corporation which includes leveraging PMC’s insider-access to document exclusive entertainment and fashion industry events.”

The awards are to be known as: “UK Picture Editors Guild Awards in association with Shutterstock” The Guild is also joined by Qatar Airways as sponsor for the new category for photographers working for the national daily and Sunday newspapers (including the Evening Standard)
The award is to be known as the ‘’Qatar Airways Newspaper Photographer of the Year’’ Chairman of the awards Alan Sparrow said “We are flattered by this interest and support from such a significant sponsor and are looking forward to a close friendship with Qatar Airways.
