Splash the celebrity photo agency bought by Corbis in 2011 have announced an ‘Industry Leading’ payment model for it’s contributing photographers.
In a Corbis/Splash memo seen by PhotoArchiveNews.com over the weekend all Splash photographers royalties will now be paid based on sales – ‘this means faster payment to the folks who deserve it most, our contributors. They will no longer need to wait for customers to pay us to receive their royalty checks’
Splash say “The Splash business has been growing exponentially over the past year with contributors joining from all over the world,” said Juli Cook, executive VP, Corbis Images. “To continue this momentum it was imperative that we develope a payment model and enhance our reporting dashboard (photographers online sales tracker) to not only poise the business for continued growth but better serve our contributors, the people in the industry who are the core of our business.

• This deal does not extend to Corbis Images contributing photographers a Splash spokesperson told PAN.
