Stock Moves: Andrew Saunders – SVP Creative Content Getty Images

Getty Images London have announced the promotion of Andrew Saunders to the position of Senior Vice President, Creative Content. He will be overseeing the development of contemporary imagery, video and music at the stock giant. Saunders predicts that the proliferation of stills, video and the growth of social media has meant a familiarisation with a more accessible style of imagery. Getty Images’ own success with its Flickr Collection, a collection which was introduced in 2009 and has recently reached 250,000 images, supports the idea that this more immediate style of imagery will take a stronger industry foothold. Saunders also says: “Video will grow exponentially as it becomes easier to capture and distribute, which, combined with its power to connect emotionally, will see video becoming a much larger part of communication.”
Saunders began his career at Tony Stone Images in 1991, following five years as a commercial photographer.
