Support: David Hayes 500 miles – he’s half way there!

In 2014 PAN reader David Hayes, ex Sales Executive at Splash News and now Manager of the Client Success Team for EMEA at Shutterstock, ran the London Marathon for Parkinson’s Disease research – now he is clocking up 500 miles cycling, swimming and running in memory of his mother, Bridget, in his new home town, Hove, on the South England coast.  …and he ‘ONLY’ has two hundred miles to go!

Watch the film above for his progress so far …and a message from David.

David explains: ‘Taking inspiration from the song “500 Miles” by the Proclaimers, my Ma’s favourite song, I’ll run, cycle & swim 500 miles over the next 3 months, inviting as many of you as possible to join me for one/some/all events, either in person (in a covid safe manner) or remotely, to do “500 More”.

‘The target is to raise £4000 (originally was £1k but I exceeded that a while back!) for cancer charities across Ireland and the UK, in memory of my Mother, Bridget Hayes, whom many of you will have known and loved. Bridget died after a short battle with stomach and liver cancer in June 2019. I’ll conclude the 500 miles on the week of Bridget’s second anniversary, on June 20th.’

David is raising funds for Irish charity – The Marie Keating Foundation and UK charity – Macmillan
You don’t have to join me, in order to donate though! Choose either the UK or Irish cancer charity – whichever you’d prefer.

Great effort David! Now, let’s help him reach that target!
