Caption: 13/4/2014 Competitors came from all over came from all over Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and Germany and the US to compete in the wacky race at Foymore Lodge, Portadown. Professional athletes, casual joggers and people who are just a bit bonkers made their way across four and half miles of bogs and ponds, under cargo nets, across monkey bars and over inflatable obstacles all in aid of charity partner Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The Picture Editors’ Guild Awards 2014 presentation took place at the Honourable Artillery Company Headquarters in London this week (Thursday 5 Feb). The Awards recognise outstanding photography from the world of news, royalty, sport, business, fashion and entertainment.
The Nikon UK Press Photographer of the Year went to photographer Jeff J Mitchell of Getty Images who also won two other categories – the UKPEG News photographer of the Year and the UKPEG Photo Essay photographer of the Year. His work was considered ‘outstanding’ by the judges. The Nikon Videographer of the Year is Julian Simmonds of the Telegraph group who entered a video of daily life in a Baghdad café. SWNS had four finalists in the awards and for the second year in a row took the prize for the Fixation Young Photographer of the year, always a strong category for the Bristol based agency.
