London based footage agency Kinolibrary are now representing the archives of Transatlantic Films for licensing.
‘From exclusive interviews at home with Marc Bolan and Rod Stewart, to travelling the world with Placido Domingo, Transatlantic revealed new insights into well-known personalities of the 20th century. They followed Norman Mailer on the mayoral campaign trail and flew with Lord Lichfield on international fashion assignments, while their archive of backstage rushes contains unseen performances by the likes of Fleetwood Mac and the Faces, as well as blues legends Muddy Waters and Champion Jack Dupree.’ …and thanks to new HD scans, the material can be explored and licenced with music recording rights included.
• Founded by Revel Guest in 1968, a woman among men in the industry and a pioneer of independent and documentary filmmaking in the UK, Transatlantic Films has since been intimately documenting iconic personalities and communities within music, theatre, film and art.
