London-based celebrity portraiture library Matrix Studiospart of the Matrix Media Group – has been chosen to represent the archive of legendary Swiss photographer Michel Comte in the UK. Comte was born 1954 in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1978 he received his first international advertising assignment from Karl Lagerfeld for the fashion house of Chloe. Global rights to Comte’s work are held by Germany’s ActionPress who chose Matrix Studios for licensing in the UK market.
The archive of several hundred iconic images includes portraits of Hollywood legends George Clooney, Sharon Stone, Sylvester Stallone and Anthony Hopkins, sporting icons Muhammad Ali, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, and musical superstars Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz.
Matrix Studios director Adam Sutherland said, ‘I am very proud and honoured to be representing Michel’s work. I grew up admiring his pictures in publications such as Vogue and Vanity Fair. He has captured some of the world’s biggest names in unique and unforgettable ways.’
