UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards: New judge + New award category – Nikon Videographer of the Year


The UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards 2013 have a new category – Nikon Videographer of the Year.
This new category has slightly different entry requirements. Entries must be shot using digital SLR cameras, not video cameras, and can be just moving footage, images shot as time lapse sequences, or a mix of stills and video content. The edited film can be feature led or news oriented, but needs to demonstrate a visual aesthetic based in photography.
Journalist and BBC presenter, Kate Silverton has agreed to join the judging panel for the award, already comprising Rose Wilson from Bloomberg, Kris Woods from C5, Andy Scofield from Channel 5 and Mike Sharp from Trinity Mirror.

• Videos taken between 17 July 2012 and 16 July 2013 are eligible for submission.The category is free to enter and entries can be made until 2 October.
