Good news here for the photo industry – one of the last ‘trade’ shows in the photo calendar Visa Pour L’Image Perpignan is confirmed to be held from August 29 to September 12 2020 – ‘provided that health conditions and restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic can be met’.
Festival organisers say: While 2020 will be different. the festival must continue to exist, must continue to support freedom of expression and work produced by photographers covering and communicating news stories and information. This is of critical importance for our vision and understanding of the world, and, in particular at the present time when it is an absolute obligation.
The Visa pour L’Image team has been working under very difficult conditions, preparing the program for the 2020 festival in line with current regulations requiring social distancing, and with all due respect for instruction from relevant authorities. This will therefore change the way the public can access exhibitions and activities.

[…] Last year the exhibitions were live but the pro week did not take place so we checked with the Visa PR team re the Covid situation this year, they told us: ‘The festival will be a live event and virtual – We will certainly host more professionals than last edition thanks to sanitary pass and possibilities to travel.’ […]
